September 2020
Dear New Member and New Colleague!
The Manitoba Teachers’ Society has developed information that you will find useful and valuable as you begin this exciting career.
We are 16,000 teachers in the public schools of Manitoba. MTS is working hard to look after members’ needs for professional development, welfare services, health benefits, advocacy, and much more. We have 80 dedicated staff and an elected board of 13 members from all over Manitoba that are committed to teachers, teaching, and public education.
Our dynamic website www.mbteach.org, our publication the MB Teacher and our many social media feeds will provide you with information to assist not only in your first crucial years of teaching, but for many years after that.
As you make key decisions this year about time, programming, energy, and resources, keep in mind that we’re here for you.
Best wishes on your first year and for many years to follow in the teaching profession.
Sincerely,
James Bedford, President
The Manitoba Teachers’ Society
