The Manitoba Teachers' Society
Representing more than 17,000 Manitoba Educators
Our contribution to Education International’s Solidarity Fund is a humanitarian action that reflects our established organizational goals.
In solidarity with educators in Palestine, the Society is joining Education International and the CTF/FCE in contributing a $5,000 donation to Education International’s Solidarity Fund.
We are excited to launch the MTS 2026–2031 Strategic Plan, a renewed commitment to strengthening our organizational foundation, deepening support for members, and advancing our leadership within Manitoba’s public education system.
The Provincial Executive of the Manitoba Teachers’ Society will be gathering tomorrow at the Manitoba Legislature for an all-party lobby day focused on strengthening and protecting public education.
The Manitoba Government has passed Bill 225, the Public Schools Amendment Act (Universal Screening for Learning Disabilities), ensuring all students Kindergarten–Grade 4 receive early reading screenings.
The Manitoba Teachers’ Society welcomes the Manitoba Human Rights Commission’s Right to Read report and strongly supports its goal: every child in Manitoba deserves the opportunity to become a successful reader.
Alberta’s teachers are standing together against a government that’s using the Notwithstanding Clause to silence our constitutional right to strike. When one government undermines these rights, it threatens us all.
MTS stands in unwavering solidarity with our colleagues in the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) as they confront an unprecedented assault on their constitutional rights.
The Manitoba Teachers’ Society (MTS) strongly supports Bill C-247, introduced by Winnipeg Centre MP Leah Gazan, which proposes the repeal of Section 107 of the Canada Labour Code.
Please join us in welcoming: Nicole Bobick, Lindsay Brown, Jeff Cieszecki (Chair), Chris Darazsi, Cale Dunbar, Kristen Fallis, Serena Klos, Jay McGurran, Joel Swaan and Tobi Wilson.
