The Society is pleased to announce that Arlyn Filewich has been appointed Executive Director of Manitoba Teachers’ Society as of today, June 6, 2025. The announcement was first made during the Society’s AGM, last month.

Serving the Society for 11 years, Arlyn has held leadership positions as Staff Officer, Department Head of Teacher Welfare and most recently, Director of Labour Relations.

Before joining MTS, Arlyn’s career in education included roles as a teacher, coach, local bargainer, local president, and member of the MTS Provincial Executive.

With over 25 years of experience in bargaining for teachers, Arlyn’s expertise culminated in her role as the MTS Lead Negotiator during the historic negotiation of the province’s first-ever provincial agreement for teachers, which was successfully finalized in July 2024.

Her 32-year career in public education and coaching, coupled with her caring approach, has made organizational leadership a natural fit. Outside of work, Arlyn enjoys reading, watching sports, and walks with the family dog, Madden. She and her husband Keon have three adult children; Keylyn, Kyler and McKenna.
