MB Teacher Fall 2022

MB Teacher Fall Edition Goes Digital

This issue of the MB Teacher celebrates all the “newness” of a new school year, with a pawsitively inventive approach to calming anxious students (and maybe a few teachers, too!), an innovative system of grading that’s, well, ungrading, and all the ways you can bring fresh perspective to your practice with new MTS PD offerings and SAGE communities. In “The Principal of the Thing”, Dr. Alysha Farell, Ph.D, shares how and why school leaders should harness the creative energy of their newest teachers.

We’re also taking a deep dive into all things collective bargaining with a look at recent history in negotiations and what lies ahead as MTS undertakes the first round of central table bargaining in the history of our union.

This month, Manitobans head to the polls in municipal elections. School trustees will be elected across the province, and with public education chronically underfunded and student support in short supply, we’ll break down why your voice matters now more than ever.

The MB Teacher is now digital, in accordance with a resolution passed at MTS Provincial Council AGM last May, and can be viewed on Issuu. If you would like to receive your copy in print log into MyProfile at mbteach.org and select “Print” in your preferences.

Remember our top five featured stories are highlighted on our companion webpage MB Teacher Magazine and are shareable with your friends and colleagues through social media and email. If you prefer you can also view and download the MB Teacher Fall 2022 PDF.
