The Manitoba Drama Educators' Association (MDEA)

Conference Title:
Reboot, Recharge, Reinvent.

Location: Online via Zoom

Date: October 22, 2020 from 6pm - 8pm

This year we will be offering an alternative structure for MTS PD Day. Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Manitoba, we have decided to host our AGM, Keynote, and workshops via Zoom. We have also altered our structure due to several school divisions and boards not providing October 23rd as a non-contact day with students.

On October 22nd, we will offer a PD opportunity that is outlined above. Our AGM will take place from 6 - 6:15 PM; at 6:15 PM, we will hear from local theatre community partners regarding opportunities for MDEA members and their students; Lindsay Price will deliver her keynote on adversity and overcoming challenges at 6:30 PM; and then at 7:00 PM she will lead an interactive workshop on incorporating classic drama games and activities in a socially-distanced classroom. If you cannot attend during this time due to school obligations, we will be recording the event and sending it to registered members so they may view it whenever it is convenient.
An added bonus with your membership is a previously recorded workshop, led by Lindsay Price, on writing/adapting plays in a socially-distant classroom or through remote learning.

Included in your membership and registration are (at least) three other professional development workshops that will be offered throughout the year, at no additional cost. Our first will be hosted in November, and will be on the subject of incorporating Indigenous perspectives in the drama classroom.
