MTS is looking to fill the position of a Staff Officer in the Professional and French Language Services (PFLS) Department that will provide support and act as a resource to individual members, local associations, committees, and the provincial organization. This position will be responsible for the research, development, facilitation, and coordination of professional learning services, support for advocacy and action in equity and social justice areas, liaising with a variety of educational partners across the province, supporting Éducatrices et éducateurs francophones du Manitoba, providing instruction of Field-Led courses, and advising on professional matters related to instruction, assessment, student services, and school leadership. PFLS staff work with a variety of media platforms and travel provincially to provide support and training.

The successful candidate must have a university degree in Education, with a Master’s degree considered an asset. Necessary skills include a demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication, as well as skills in problem solving, interpersonal relationships, group facilitation, leadership, organizational and priority management, and research and analysis. The demonstrated abilities to design and deliver adult learning as well as measuring the impacts of training, and knowledge of software applications and communications technology platforms are essential. The ability to collaborate within a team, handle multiple tasks in a demanding environment, work independently and take initiative is required. Candidates must have the ability work flexible hours, including Saturdays as well as the ability to travel within and outside the province as necessary.

Manitoba teaching experience, possession of a Manitoba Teaching Certificate, and involvement in MTS activities will be considered assets. Fluency in French, as well as knowledge and experiences in Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing will also be considered assets. Terms and conditions of employment are covered under a Collective Agreement.
