Conference Title: Camp MDEA: A Day of Collective Creation

Location: Hybrid; In-Person: St. John's-Ravenscourt School, 400 South Drive, Winnipeg, MB; Virtual

Time: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

- In-Person Event -
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure where drama, creativity, and community come alive. This year’s camp-style event invites educators and theatre lovers to register as campers in one of three groups—Early, Middle, or Senior—depending on what they teach or what they’d like to explore. Each group is guided by our enthusiastic Executive members, stepping into the role of Camp Counselors, ready to spark energy and connection. Together, campers will dive into hands-on workshops led by skilled facilitators, experimenting with any and all styles of theatre. From improvisation to digital storytelling, each path leads toward crafting a unique presentation inspired by a common theme. Along the way, participants will engage with the Global Competencies—Creativity, Citizenship, Connection to Self, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, and Communication—building skills that last far beyond camp. Join us for laughter, learning, and storytelling that empowers educators and inspires students.

- Virtual Event -
Join us for an inspiring virtual event celebrating student-led creativity in drama and the arts! Our keynote speaker, Catherine Wreford, acclaimed performer and proud Winnipegger, will share her journey of resilience, artistry, and the power of student voice. Alongside Catherine’s keynote, participants will take part in two dynamic workshops designed to spark ideas and strategies for empowering students to lead their own creative journeys. This is your chance to connect with colleagues, gather fresh inspiration, and explore how drama and the arts can transform classrooms. Don’t miss this opportunity to reignite your passion and creativity as an educator!
