This session is the first introduction to a Theme Planning Guide for FCC Grades 4 to 8. This guide was developed through the Bureau de l’éducation française with support and feedback from Manitoba teachers. It provides an easy-to-follow structure that guides teachers in using a balanced literacy approach and the methodology for oral communication based in the Neurolinguistic Approach. This guide also provides a list of suggested themes for each grade to facilitate planning the entire school year. Through using this guide, teachers will feel confident as they plan for the effective teaching and learning of FCC.
