The province has announced that Noni Classen will be the next commissioner of teacher professional conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Classen will assume her new position on May 19 following two decades of research and advocacy for the Canadian Centre for Child Protection in Winnipeg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She appears in Manitoba\u2019s online teacher registry as Naomi Ann Classen, certified in 1994 – a Class 4 teacher in good standing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA K\u201312 public education background was non-negotiable for us, and we\u2019re pleased to see that reflected in this appointment, \u201csaid MTS president Lillian Klausen. \u201cGiven that Ms. Classen holds a teaching certificate, we hope that, in addition to her focus on child protection, she shares a commitment to upholding the status and integrity of the teaching profession.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Klausen said that MTS looks forward to working collaboratively with the new commissioner, ensuring a fair and balanced framework that serves the best interests of both teachers and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
