The Manitoba Teachers’ Society is proud to share this important initiative with our members as part of our continued commitment to creating respectful, safe, and inclusive workplaces.

Why this Matters

Every worker deserves a safe and respectful work environment. Yet findings from the CLC’s groundbreaking 2020 survey revealed serious concerns:

7 in 10 workers across Canada reported experiencing harassment or violence at work.

28% of incidents involved third parties such as clients, patients, or customers.

88% of affected workers experienced negative consequences, including being transferred, suspended, fired, or losing shifts.

Many workers reported that nothing changed after reporting incidents—and some found that reporting made things worse.

These findings have helped shape policy and advocacy across Canada, but more work is needed.

Have Your Voice Heard

Whether or not you’ve personally experienced or witnessed harassment or violence, your input matters. The Respect at Work Survey is open to all workers in Canada aged 18+ who have worked in the past 12 months, including public and private sector employees, union and non-union workers. The survey:

Takes 10–15 minutes

Completely anonymous

Open to all workers, regardless of experience

By taking part, you are helping Canada’s unions, including MTS, push for stronger protections and real change in workplaces across the country.

Take the survey today: Respect at Work Survey

The Canadian Labour Congress, in collaboration with researchers from Western University and the University of Toronto, has launched a national survey on workplace harassment and violence.

[30

post-2908","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","post-thumbnail-displayed
["GET
