Why did MTS decide to develop Balance?
The commitment to education takes a lot of energy and with that need for energy there is a need to ensure our members have access to the resources they need to take care of themselves. Through MTS Balance we and want to help to provide resources and education to assist our members find their path to healthy living.
Is there a fee for Balance programming?
There is a large variety of programming offered through Balance. Some of the programs are available at no cost, and others are provided at a subsidized rate. We are able to partner with existing budgets when it is being shown that an investment is being made into Wellness through a school or division, it is our goal to help you maximize that investment and enhance it as much as possible. For full details regarding what programming is available and at what cost please contact Robyn Braha, Wellness Facilitator, for more details regarding balance programming costs.
How far in advance do you have to book programming?
Ideally we request 8 weeks’ notice for arranging wellness events; To ensure the most options you can book programming up to one year in advance. We highly recommend as much notice as possible for major events. That being said, if you have the opportunity and a time slot to incorporate wellness into a program, don’t hesitate to call. If there is something we can do to help we will.
What assistance is available for Wellness Chairs?
We recognize the challenges in adopting a position such as Wellness Chair, as wellness means something different to everybody. We are here to support Wellness Chairs by helping them to design and select programming. We are here as a support system for those looking to incorporate wellness into the day to day lives of our members.
Where can we find the Balance, Wellness Publication?
Balance will be distributed seven times throughout the school year. They will be provided to all teachers in hard copy and on this website, in the MTS Library. In 2016 we will transition to copies upon request, and the publication will continue to be available online. Copies of the publication will also be made available for school lunchrooms. Extra copies are also available upon request.
