The Manitoba Teachers' Society is offering help to teachers and local associations who wish to get involved in upcoming school board elections.

The Society has created a school board elections handbook with extensive information and advice on the election and potential activities.

As well, grants are available to help with those projects.

Each year, the Society offers Public Relations Grants to local associations wanting to launch new PR projects.

Since this year is an election year for school trustees, the Society is also making these grants available to associations needing help funding projects related to the Oct. 27 elections.

The deadline to apply for an election-related PR grant will be Tuesday, September 27, 2010.

For associations choosing to apply for a regular PR Grant - not related to the trustee elections – the deadline is Wednesday, December 8, 2010.
