A raging debate has begun in Florida in the wake of a stunning decision to just consider adding "evolution" to the science curriculum.

The revision to the science standards would include use of the word evolution instead of "biological changes over time."

Teachers have applauded the move, while others are suggesting the teaching of something accepted by the rest of the world is propaganda.

Said the president of the Community Issues Council: "The issue goes to whether our schools are places of learning or indoctrination centres."
