ELECTION STATEMENT
“The important thing is not to stop questioning”
Albert Einstein
Teachers enter the profession of teaching to make a difference with their students. I believe teachers should continue their mission as educational leaders with the voice of MTS to assist meeting their wants and needs.
The never ending quest to provide appropriate education is a challenge we face every day. We need the tools and resources to address the range and depth of student needs.
I am convinced we must continue to examine a process for provincial bargaining. If provincial bargaining were to be mandated by the government, then our job is to insure that the transition would be as smooth as possible.
Can there ever be a just society? The moral compass of society should demand continued effort towards social justice, even if some would argue the impossibility of achieving it.
Never stop questioning. Whether it is issues directly related to the classroom, or our own organization, every member is responsible for the direction of MTS. Your provincial executive is your voice. I encourage every member to question at every opportunity and to help guide the moral compass of MTS. It is essential that our provincial executive be open and accessible to the membership and willing to take guidance from the voice of the teachers of Manitoba.
I am a proud member of the Manitoba Teachers’ Society who hopes you will allow me the privilege to serve you by supporting me in this election.
