Notice of Call
Call for AGM Nominations to the Provincial Executive and to the Disability Benefits Plan
Provincial Executive
In accordance with Bylaw III, nominations are open for five positions for two-year terms for the Provincial Executive As well, nominations are open to fill a vacancy for a one-year term on the Provincial Executive.
Deadline for Nominations is March 17th, 2008.
Disability Benefits Plan
Pursuant to Bylaw III, nominations are open for two positions for three-year terms for the Disability Benefits Plan Governance Board. Nominations are also open to fill a vacancy for a two-year term on the Board.
Nominations are open for two positions for three-year terms for the Disability Benefits Plan Case Management Committee. Nominations are also open to fill a vacancy for a two-year term on the Case Management Committee.
Deadline for Nominations is March 17th, 2008.
Nominations will be accepted from:
1. Teacher associations and remote local associations.
2. Individual members who have been refused nomination by an association, provided twenty (20) members have endorsed the individual’s nomination.
Nomination forms have been sent to all Teacher Associations. When completing the forms, please note:
Nomination and Election to the Provincial Executive or to the Disability Benefits Plan Governance Board or Case Management Committee will be administered under Bylaw and Policy requirements governing Society elections. Bylaw III C is found on Page 13 of the 2007 Policy Handbook. Policy Governance I. 2 and 3 are found on Page 105 of the 2007 Policy Handbook.
Nominations will also be accepted during the Annual General Meeting of Provincial Council up to 4:00 p.m. on the second day of the meeting from individual members, provided a nominee is endorsed by ten (10) registered representatives.
Notice of call
The Provincial Council consists of representatives named by teacher associations and Les éducatrices et éducateurs francophones du Manitoba plus the members of the current Provincial Executive. The number of delegates representing each association depends on the number of members in that association.
This notice is given in compliance with Bylaw II of the bylaws of the Manitoba Teachers’ Society.
The 89th Annual General Meeting of the Provincial Council of The Manitoba Teachers’ Society will be held May 22nd – 24th, 2008 at the Fairmont Hotel, Winnipeg.
